Planning four parallel paths to completion.
The assignment addressed the expansion of a data centre through four new data halls. The planning challenge was to align mechanical, electrical and commissioning work around parallel execution within a one-year delivery window.
A detailed execution schedule
A Level 4 Primavera P6 schedule of approximately 3 500 activities was developed for the mechanical, electrical and commissioning scope.
Logic for parallel delivery
Schedule logic was developed to support simultaneous construction across the data halls. This made the relationships between disciplines and the sequence towards commissioning explicit.
A framework for the delivery team
Joint planning sessions with client and contractor teams aligned timelines and responsibilities. A project-controls framework was provided for the client to implement during execution.
Parallel delivery depends on clear interfaces and handovers as much as it depends on individual activity dates.
Figures describe the scale of the assignment, rather than the overall project or a measured performance improvement.
